Quantum number projection at finite temperature via thermofield dynamics

open access: yes, 2004
Applying the thermo field dynamics, we reformulate exact quantum number projection in the finite-temperature Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Explicit formulae are derived for the simultaneous projection of particle number and angular momentum, in ...

ON PROJECTIONS IN PROJECTIVE SPACES

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 1998

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Bounds on \"{U}bercrossing and Petal Numbers for Knots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An $n$-crossing is a point in the projection of a knot where $n$ strands cross so that each strand bisects the crossing. An \"ubercrossing projection has a single $n$-crossing and a petal projection has a single $n$-crossing such that there are no loops ...

Improved Outcomes for Older Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Neuroblastoma in the Post‐Immunotherapy Era: An Updated Report From the International Neuroblastoma Risk Group

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We describe clinical and biologic characteristics of neuroblastoma in older children, adolescents, and young adults (OCAYA); describe survival outcomes in the post‐immunotherapy era; and identify if there is an age cut‐off that best discriminates outcomes.

Ideals of Projections According to σ-Algebras and Unbounded Measurements

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
A theory of unbounded measures is constructed based on the quantum logics of orthogonal projections. As an analogue of the ring of sets, the projector ideal is proposed. Finite and maximal measures regarding the projector ideals are described.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Cylindrical Algebraic Decomposition Using Local Projections

open access: yes, 2014
We present an algorithm which computes a cylindrical algebraic decomposition of a semialgebraic set using projection sets computed for each cell separately.

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...
