PPCI: an R Package for Cluster Identification using Projection Pursuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents the R package PPCI which implements three recently proposed projection pursuit methods for clustering. The methods are unified by the approach of defining an optimal hyperplane to separate clusters, and deriving a projection index ...

Patterned phosphor-in-glass films with efficient thermal management for high-power laser projection displays

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics, 2023
Recently, high-performance color converters excitable by blue laser diode (LD) have sprung up for projection displays. However, the thermal accumulation effect of the color converters is a non-negligible problem under high-power LD irradiation.

Non-elliptic wavevector anisotropy for magnetohydrodynamic turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2015
A model of non-elliptic wavevector anisotropy is developed for the inertial-range spectrum of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence and is presented in the two-dimensional wavevector domain spanning the directions parallel and perpendicular to the mean ...

A novel fractional model for the projection of households using wealth index quintiles.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Forecasting household assets provides a better opportunity to plan their socioeconomic activities for the future. Fractional mathematical models offer to model the asset-holding data into a piece of scientific evidence in addition to forecasting their ...

Global Efforts to Reduce Paediatric Cancer Care Disparities in Radiotherapy: A Decade Change

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We present an update on the status, needs and challenges faced by paediatric imaging and radiotherapy (RT) programmes globally after a previous survey conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 10 years prior. Methods We developed and distributed a 121‐question survey to radiation oncologists, medical physicists and ...

Shape distortion analysis of hexagonal discrete global grid systems based on standard deviation of neighbor distance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
Hexagonal Discrete Global Grid Systems (HDGGS) are spatial reference frameworks based on the spatial discretization of the Earth’s surface, dividing it into a network of uniform hexagonal cells.

On Track or Not? Projecting the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
In this paper we compute projections of global multidimensional poverty. We use recently published estimates of changes over time in multidimensional poverty for 75 countries, which are based on time-consistent indicators. We consider and evaluate different approaches to model the trajectories of countries' achieved and future poverty reduction.
