Non-elliptic wavevector anisotropy for magnetohydrodynamic turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2015
A model of non-elliptic wavevector anisotropy is developed for the inertial-range spectrum of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence and is presented in the two-dimensional wavevector domain spanning the directions parallel and perpendicular to the mean ...

Unsupervised hyperspectral image analysis with projection pursuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Principal components analysis (PCA) is effective at compressing information in multivariate data sets by computing orthogonal projections that maximize the amount of data variance.

Tensor projection mechanism and algorithm implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This paper analyses the mechanism of tensor projection transformation in depth and introduces a high-efficiency original algorithm developed in a quantum computing language for forward and backward projection between multidimensional tensors and one ...

A novel fractional model for the projection of households using wealth index quintiles.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Forecasting household assets provides a better opportunity to plan their socioeconomic activities for the future. Fractional mathematical models offer to model the asset-holding data into a piece of scientific evidence in addition to forecasting their ...

Shape distortion analysis of hexagonal discrete global grid systems based on standard deviation of neighbor distance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
Hexagonal Discrete Global Grid Systems (HDGGS) are spatial reference frameworks based on the spatial discretization of the Earth’s surface, dividing it into a network of uniform hexagonal cells.

3D Non-Rigid Alignment of Low-Dose Scans Allows to Correct for Saturation in Lower Extremity Cone-Beam CT

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Detector saturation in cone-beam computed tomography occurs when an object of highly varying shape and material composition is imaged using an automatic exposure control (AEC) system.

On Track or Not? Projecting the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
In this paper we compute projections of global multidimensional poverty. We use recently published estimates of changes over time in multidimensional poverty for 75 countries, which are based on time-consistent indicators. We consider and evaluate different approaches to model the trajectories of countries' achieved and future poverty reduction.

Interactive data exploration with targeted projection pursuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Data exploration is a vital, but little considered, part of the scientific process; but few visualisation tools can cope with truly complex data. Targeted Projection Pursuit (TPP) is an interactive data exploration technique that provides an intuitive ...

Skewness-Based Projection Pursuit: a Computational Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Projection pursuit is a multivariate statistical technique aimed at finding interesting low-dimensional data projections by maximizing a measure of interestingness commonly known as projection index. Widespread use of projection pursuit has been hampered
