Topological structure of optimal flows on the Girl's surface

open access: yesPracì Mìžnarodnogo Geometričnogo Centru, 2023
We investigate the topological structure of flows on the Girl's surface which is one of two possible immersions of the projective plane in three-dimensional space with one triple point of self-intersection.

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Reducibility of the Moduli Space of Stable Rank 2 Reflexive Sheaves with Chern Classes c1 = −1, c2 = 4, c3 = 2 on Projective Space P³

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2014
We prove the reducibility of the moduli space MrefP³(2; −1, 4, 2) of stable rank 2 re- flexive sheaves with Chern classes c₁ = −1, c₂ = 4, c₃ = 2 on projective space P³.

Class Gradient Projection For Continual Learning

open access: yesProceedings of the 30th ACM International Conference on Multimedia, 2022
Catastrophic forgetting is one of the most critical challenges in Continual Learning (CL). Recent approaches tackle this problem by projecting the gradient update orthogonal to the gradient subspace of existing tasks. While the results are remarkable, those approaches ignore the fact that these calculated gradients are not guaranteed to be orthogonal ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Projective characterization of higher-order quantum transformations [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
Transformations of transformations, also called higher-order transformations, is a natural concept in information processing, which has recently attracted significant interest in the study of quantum causal relations.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Classes of modules closed under projective covers

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
In this work, we study some classes of modules closed under submodules, quotients, and projective covers, even if the left projective cover of an arbitrary left module not always exists. We obtain a characterization of artinian principal ideal rings when

Weights of the $\mathbb{F}_{q}$-forms of $2$-step splitting trivectors of rank $8$ over a finite field

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2019
Grassmann codes are linear codes associated with the Grassmann variety $G(\ell,m)$ of $\ell$-dimensional subspaces of an $m$ dimensional vector space $\mathbb{F}_{q}^{m}.$ They were studied by Nogin for general $q.$ These codes are conveniently described

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
