Supervised Protein Structure Classification Using Topological Persistence With DeltaFold

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in protein structure prediction have considerably increased the number of available structures, underscoring the need for scalable and accurate methods to compare and classify this huge amount of data. Current approaches based on sequence alignment or structural superposition often lack sensitivity and/or are computationally ...

A Rank‐Based CUSUM Monitoring Scheme for Time Between Events and Amplitude Data

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Monitoring time between events and amplitude (TBEA) data is critical in many applications, particularly in manufacturing, reliability engineering, and service operations. Yet, most existing TBEA control charts focus on a single quality characteristic and are typically developed under restrictive distributional assumptions.

Sliding Motions on Non‐Euclidean State Spaces: A Differential‐Geometric Perspective

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper extends sliding‐mode control theory to nonlinear systems evolving on smooth manifolds. Building on differential geometric methods, we reformulate Filippov's notion of solutions, characterize well‐defined vector fields on quotient spaces, and provide a consistent geometric definition of higher‐order sliding modes.

Toward Encrypted OPF Across Transmission and Distribution—Prospects and Open Problems of Encrypted Quadratic Programming

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing integration of distributed energy resources demands enhanced coordination between transmission system operators (TSOs) and distribution system operators (DSOs) to maintain reliable grid operation. Traditional approaches rely on hierarchical or distributed optimization schemes for power flow management, but these methods either ...

Privacy‐Preserving Data‐Driven Distributed MPC for Heterogeneous Nonlinear Multi‐Agent Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Distributed model predictive control (DMPC) is a cornerstone for coordinating multi‐agent systems, yet simultaneously ensuring data privacy, handling unknown nonlinear dynamics, and managing heterogeneous constraints remains an open challenge.

Machine learning‐driven advances in carbon‐based quantum dots: Opportunities accompanied by challenges

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning provides a unifying framework to connect structure, fluorescence properties, and applications of carbon‐based quantum dots. This review highlights how data‐driven strategies enable fluorescence regulation, reveal underlying mechanisms, and accelerate the rational design of functional carbon dots.

From Ambition to Authenticity: How Transparent Sustainability Practices Rebuild Stakeholder Trust

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stakeholder trust is central to advancing sustainable development, yet it is increasingly strained as corporate sustainability commitments expand faster than verifiable performance. This study examines how authenticity and transparency in corporate sustainability practices influence the formation and maintenance of stakeholder trust under ...

Effectiveness of In‐Person Versus Online Negotiation Teaching for Practitioners

open access: yesNegotiation Journal, EarlyView., 2023
Most negotiation courses have been taught in person. However, online education has become more prevalent over the past decade due to its flexibility, cost and time efficiency, and new digital technologies designed to compensate for the lack of personal contact.

Bridging Efficiency Gaps in Rice Production: A Primal System Analysis of Technical and Allocative Constraints in Bangladesh

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Declining natural resources, rising production costs, and diminishing returns from input‐intensive practices threaten the sustainability of smallholder rice systems in Bangladesh. Using a primal system approach and survey data from 1869 rice‐producing households, this study evaluates technical and allocative inefficiency across major agro ...

The Mitigating Role of Managerial Ability in ESG Decoupling

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Does managerial competence widen or bridge the gap between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosures and actual performance? This paper explores the relationship between CEO ability and corporate decoupling regarding sustainability issues.
