Flat-Parallel Minkowski Space and β-Change with α,β-Metric

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
The purpose of this paper is to examine the condition for a Finsler space with a generalized α,β-metric to be projectively flat. In addition, we establish that the Finsler space with generalized α,β-metric is a flat-parallel Minkowski space and derive ...

Multi‐institutional study on image quality for a novel CBCT solution on O‐ring linac

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction This work presents a multi‐institutional study on image quality provided by a novel cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The main goal is to investigate the consistency of imaging performance across multiple institutions.

Does dose calculation algorithm affect the dosimetric accuracy of synthetic CT for MR‐only radiotherapy planning in brain tumors?

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study compares the dosimetric accuracy of deep‐learning‐based MR synthetic CT (sCT) in brain radiotherapy between the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB). Additionally, it proposes a novel metric to predict the dosimetric accuracy of sCT for individual post‐surgical brain cases.

Petty projection inequality on the sphere and on the hyperbolic space [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Using gnomonic projection and Poincar\'e model, we first define the spherical projection body and hyperbolic projection body in spherical space $\mathbb{S}^n$ and hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^n$, then define the spherical Steiner symmetrization and hyperbolic Steiner symmetrization, finally prove the spherical projection inequality and hyperbolic ...

Modelling of a double‐scattering proton therapy nozzle using the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and analysis of linear energy transfer in patients treated for prostate cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The dose‐averaged linear energy transfer (LETD) in proton therapy (PT) has in pre‐clinical studies been linked to the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of protons. Until recently, the most common PT delivery method in prostate cancer has been double‐scattered PT, with LETD only available through dedicated Monte Carlo (MC ...

Integrating the Projective Transform with Particle Filtering for Visual Tracking

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2011
This paper presents the projective particle filter, a Bayesian filtering technique integrating the projective transform, which describes the distortion of vehicle trajectories on the camera plane.

Characterizing Geometric Designs [PDF]

open access: yesRendiconti di Matematica e delle Sue Applicazioni, 2010
We conjecture that the classical geometric 2-designs PGd(n, q), where 2 ≤ d ≤ n − 1, are characterized among all designs with the same parameters as those having line size q + 1.
