Algebraic geometry proceedings of Bilkent Summer School

open access: yes, 1997
This timely resource - based on the Summer School on Algebraic Geometry held recently at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey - surveys and applies fundamental ideas and techniques in the theory of curves, surfaces, and threefolds to a wide variety of ...

Signed Projective Cubes, a Homomorphism Point of View

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The (signed) projective cubes, as a special class of graphs closely related to the hypercubes, are on the crossroad of geometry, algebra, discrete mathematics and linear algebra. Defined as Cayley graphs on binary groups, they represent basic linear dependencies.

Topics in computation, numerical methods and algebraic  geometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis concerns computation and algebraic geometry. On the computational side we have focused on numerical homotopy methods. These procedures may be used to numerically solve systems of polynomial equations. The thesis contains four papers. In Paper

Stable Cuts, NAC‐Colourings and Flexible Realisations of Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A (2‐dimensional) realisation of a graph G $G$ is a pair ( G , p ) $(G,p)$, where p $p$ maps the vertices of G $G$ to R 2 ${{\mathbb{R}}}^{2}$. A realisation is flexible if it can be continuously deformed while keeping the edge lengths fixed, and rigid otherwise.

Rigorous Electromagnetic Quasinormal‐Mode Method Made Easy for Users

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
We present a method that combines numerical techniques with accurate approximations to enable simple and ultrafast computations of the scattered field based on quasinormal modes expansions. The method is made available in the open‐source package MANlite implemented within COMSOL.

PRIN 2015 - Geometry of Algebraic Varieties

open access: yes, 2017
The overall objective of the project is the research in one of the crucial areas of mathematics, namely algebraic geometry. Its purpose is to contribute to a significant growth of knowledge on algebraic varieties, studying their general properties, the ...

Four‐Dimensional pp‐Wave Lie Groups and Harmonic Curvature

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We determine all four‐dimensional Lie groups which have harmonic curvature. In parallel, a description of four‐dimensional pp‐wave Lie groups is obtained.

Kuga–Satake Construction on Families of K3 Surfaces of Picard Rank 14

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The isometry between the type IV6 and the type II4 hermitian symmetric domains suggests a possible relation between suitable moduli spaces of K3 surfaces of Picard rank 14 and of polarized abelian 8‐folds with totally definite quaternion multiplication. We show how this isometry induces a geometrically meaningful map between such moduli spaces

Packings in Real Projective Spaces

open access: yes, 2018
This paper applies techniques from algebraic and differential geometry to determine how to best pack points in real projective spaces. We present a computer-assisted proof of the optimality of a particular 6-packing in $\mathbb{R}\mathbf{P}^3$, we ...
