The Biomechanical Signature of Elite Distance Running: A Matched Pairs Analysis Across Multiple Speeds

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This study compared the biomechanical profiles of elite and recreational distance runners across five measurement domains using wearable inertial sensors across treadmill speeds of 10–15 km/h. A total of 104 runners (52 elite; 52 recreational) were assessed using RunScribe sensors during an incremental treadmill protocol.

Foot Pronation Detection Based on Plantar Pressure Measurement

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract In the paper, we design a foot pronation detection system based on plantar pressure sensors. The system includes: collecting the pressure sensor signals by reasonably arranging the pressure sensors; collecting the plantar pressure signal value of the test object which has been walking for a period of time; taking the ...

Biomechanics of Transitional Movements in Individuals with Pronated Feet: A Review Study [PDF]

open access: yesBiyumikānīk-i varzishī
Objective A pronated foot is a chronic deformity characterized by the flattening of the medial longitudinal arch (MLA) and medial plantar abduction. Studies estimate that approximately 20% of the global population exhibits this condition. The aim of this

Influence of landing on the supination and pronation in the foot joint.

open access: yesJournal of human ergology, 1998
The purpose of this study was to measure the changes of supination and pronation in the ankle joint at landing to quantify the influence of shock attenuation during landing. The subjects did two different motions, jumping down on the force platform from posterior and lateral views. The rear view of single foot contact in a jump from height of 30 and 60
