Enhanced Feedback Iterative Decoding of Sparse Quantum Codes
Decoding sparse quantum codes can be accomplished by syndrome-based decoding using a belief propagation (BP) algorithm. We significantly improve this decoding scheme by developing a new feedback adjustment strategy for the standard BP algorithm.

Positive Surge Propagation in Sloping Channels [PDF]
A simplified model for the upstream propagation of a positive surge in a sloping, rectangular channel is presented. The model is based on the assumptions of a flat water surface and negligible energy dissipation downstream of the surge, which is generated by the instantaneous closure of a downstream gate. Under these hypotheses, a set of equations that

Antisymmetric solitons and their interactions in strongly dispersion-managed fiber-optic systems
By means of the variational approximation (VA), a system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is derived to describe the propagation of antisymmetric solitons in a multi-channel (WDM) optical fiber link subject to strong dispersion management ...

Through direct application of porous transport layer (PTL) on the bipolar plate (BPP) with thermal spraying, the interfacial contact resistance is improved. With the cold gas sprayed BPP–PTL coating system, a proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cell with a cell voltage of Ucell = 1.9 V can be operated up to i = 2.5 A/cm2 in a dynamic mode ...

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

Delay Estimation in Long-Code Asynchronous DS/CDMA Systems Using Multiple Antennas
The problem of propagation delay estimation in asynchronous long-code DS-CDMA multiuser systems is addressed. Almost all the methods proposed so far in the literature for propagation delay estimation are derived for short codes and the knowledge of the ...
