Facet‐Dependent Water Inhibition of Alkanol Dehydration on TiO2 via Distinct Water–Alkanol Complexes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Water inhibits alkanol dehydration on TiO2 through facet‐dependent manners via distinct IPA‐water complexes. On TiO2(001), water forms a strongly hydrogen‐bonded isopropoxide–H2O complex that readily dominates the surface and substantially elevates the activation barrier, whereas on TiO2(101), water weakly hydrogen‐bonds to molecular IPA, resulting in ...

Reaction of 5-Chloroalkyl-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles with strong base. An unexpected new synthesis of the 2-Oxa-3-azabicyclo[3,1,0]hex-3-ene ring system

open access: yes, 1977
Reaction of 5-chloromethyl-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole with potassium t-butoxide in dimethyl sulphoxide gives 4-phenyl-2-oxa-3- azabicyclo[3,1,0]hex-3-ene in high yield and reaction of the 5-(1?- chloroethyl) homologue gives high yields of the ...

Self‐Adhesive Conductive Elastomers for Gel‐Free Biopotential Recording

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
σPOMaC, a self‐adhesive conductive citrate elastomer incorporating PEDOT:PSS and DBSA, enables gel‐free biopotential electrodes with stable conductivity and intrinsic skin adhesion. The composite exhibits low resistivity (∼ 0.02 Ω·cm), robust electrical performance during repeated use, and reliable on‐body ECG acquisition comparable to Ag/AgCl ...

Lattice Coherency‐Driven (111)‐Oriented Wide Bandgap Perovskite Films

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Methylammonium lead chloride (MAPbCl3)‐derived seed templates regulate wide‐bandgap perovskite crystallization through coupled thermodynamic and kinetic effects. Lattice‐coherent templating lowers the energy cost for (111) epilayer growth, while growth retardation controls crystallization kinetics, ultimately producing highly crystalline face‐up (111 ...

Synthetic O‐Polysaccharide Backbone Units for a Single Antigen Vaccine Against Two Major Non‐Typhoidal Salmonella Serovars

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A modular strategy was developed to synthesize tri‐, hexa‐, and nona‐saccharides representing repeating units of the conserved O‐polysaccharide backbone of Salmonella. Conjugates of these glycans to bacteriophage Qβ induced strong IgG responses in mice and rabbits. Antibodies elicited recognized native O‐polysaccharides and conferred protection against

Direct hydrogenolysis of glycerol to biopropanols over metal phosphate supported platinum catalysts

open access: yes, 2017
Several metal phosphate supported platinum catalysts (Pt/AlP, Pt/TiP, Pt/ZrP and Pt/NbP) have been synthesized for the direct hydrogenolysis of glycerol to produce bio-propanols performed under mild reaction conditions.

High‐Performance Noble‐Metal‐Free Perovskite Solar Cells Enabled by MoOX/Cr/Al Multilayer Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Cost‐effective perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are developed using a noble‐metal‐free MoOX/Cr/Al multilayer electrode. The devices achieve a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.6%, competitive with that of Au‐based devices (26.3%), and a 25.5 cm2 mini‐module shows 21.3% PCE.

Synthetic Antispasmodics. I. Some 1,1-Diaryl-3-(4'-methyl-1'-piperazino)-1-propenes

open access: yes, 1955
The Mannich bases obtained by reaction of 1-methylpiperazine and formaldehyde with acetophenone and 2-acetylthiophen respectively have been condensed with phenyl- and α-thienylmagnesium bromide, giving the 1,1-diphenyl, 1,1-di-α-thienyl, and 1-phenyl-1-α-
