Propeller manufacture – propeller materials – propeller strength 123
International Shipbuilding Progress, 1975The paper discusses the casting, molding materials, machinability, and alloying materials in the manufacture of propellers. Included are the fatigue properties, fatigue strength with respect to corrosion, the effect of cavities and grain structure, fracture and the use of various materials for propellers.

We demonstrate experimentally and theoretically (both analytically and numerically) a new type of spatial soliton: a rotating "propeller" soliton. This is a composite soliton made of a rotating dipole component jointly trapped with a bell-shaped component. We observe as much as 239 degrees of rotation over 13 mm of propagation (6.5 diffraction lengths).

This report summarizes the available information on the toxicity of 15 propellants used in aerosols. After reviewing the results derived from various animal species, the following classifications are proposed: Low-pressure propellants of high toxicity: trichlorofluoromethane (FC 11), dichloromonofluoromethane (FC 21), trichlorotrifluoroethane (FC

Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) propellants used in metered dose inhalers (MDI) must be replaced under the terms of the Montreal Protocol. Following a review of the available data, HFA134a (1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane) was selected as a potential alternative propellant.

Influence of propeller characteristics on propeller structural design
2015In previous works, the importance of considering fatigue phenomena has been analysed and a procedure for propeller blades fatigue assessment was outlined. The results obtained by applying the proce-dure allowed underlining the need of a more detailed and direct approach to propeller structural design, which could lead to different blade scantling ...

The article discusses research into turboprops being driven by a demand for shorter, cheaper airplane flights. Topics include a brief historical overview of the debut of propeller-driven aircraft, the fuel efficiency of turboprops, compared to turbofans, and engineers at General Electric Aviation's Dowty Propellers, who are using computational fluid ...

Abstract Center-to-propeller stereocontrol in a family of macrobicyclic, double-propeller shaped tri- λ 5 -triphosphazenes remains constant in the upper tribenzylamine fragment as the size of the pivotal group at the lower tris(phosphane) fragment is gradually increased.
