Photochemical Fuel Carrier Molecules for Robotic Embodied Energy
We designed a novel fuel carrier photoresponsive molecule for on‐demand energy storage and release. Carrier molecules undergo bond scission under UV light to release chemical fuel and locally generate propulsive Marangoni flows. We demonstrate this photochemical embodied energy strategy in small‐scale robots and active matter systems, enabling ...

Numerical simulation on bearing force of propeller for machining errors in non-uniform inflow
In order to study the bearing force caused by the machining errors of composite material propeller in non-uniform flow, the propeller was computed by changing the machining error of the propeller in six degrees of freedom, in which the main blade ...

An Electric Thrust Meter Suitable for Flight Investigation of Propellers [PDF]
A lightweight instrument that utilizes resistance-wire electric strain gases to measure propeller-shaft thrust has been developed. A wind-tunnel investigation on a propeller installed, on a single-engine pursuit airplane showed that the instrument gave a

This work introduces an atomic‐level engineered bimetallic MOF Platform that resolves the inherent trade‐off between environmental stability and propulsion efficiency. By integrating robust Fe‐O bonds for hydrolysis resistance and enabling d‐orbital charge transfer (Fe3+→Cu2+) for enhanced photothermal conversion, the design achieves a highly durable ...

Modelling a Propeller Using Force and Mass Rate Density Fields
A method to replace a propeller by force and mass rate density fields has been developed. The force of the propeller on the flow is calculated using a boundary element method (BEM) program and used to generate the force and mass rate fields in a Reynolds-

Acoustically propelled nanoshells
Herein we report a new design for acoustic nanoswimmers, making use of a nanoshell geometry that was synthesized using a sphere template process. Such shell-shaped nanomotors display highly efficient acoustic propulsion on the nanoscale by converting energy from the ambient acoustic field into motion.
