We describe nanoscale tools in the form of autonomous and remotely guided catalytically self-propelled InGaAs/GaAs/(Cr)Pt tubes. These rolled-up tubes with diameters in the range of 280-600 nm move in hydrogen peroxide solutions with speeds as high as 180 μm s(-1).

Abstract The authors anlayze the case of an Albanian refugee who was killed by the propellers of the outboard engine of a rubber dinghy while illegally attempting to reach Italy. The finding of multiple parallel, deep clear-cut injuries is uncommon, but highly characteristic of the object producing the lesions.

Propeller Induced Velocities in Ducted Propellers
SNAME Propellers '84 Symposium, 1984This paper presents the results of flow measurements in the nozzle opening of ducted propellers operating in both open and behind conditions. The open-water test measurements show the propeller induced velocities in nozzle opening differ from the results from conventional propeller measurements.
