Spectroscopic evidence for the adsorption of propene on gold nanoparticles during the hydro-epoxidation of propene

open access: yesJournal of Catalysis, 2008
The adsorption of propene on supported gold nanoparticles has been experimentally identified as a reaction step in the hydro-epoxidation of propene. This new finding was made possible by applying a detailed analysis of in situ measured XANES spectra.

Switching off propene hydrogenation in the direct epoxidation of propene over gold–titania catalysts

open access: yesJournal of Catalysis, 2012
Low gold-loaded gold–titanium catalysts with very small gold nanoparticles for the direct epoxidation of propene have a remarkably high epoxidation activity. A disadvantage, however, is that these catalysts in certain cases also have a very high activity for the unwanted hydrogenation of propene to propane.

Propene epoxidation over Au/Ti-SBA-15 catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Catalysis, 2007
Highly dispersed gold nanoparticles were synthesized within the channels of a mesoporous Ti-SBA-15 support, followed by thorough catalyst characterization and testing in the selective epoxidation of propene to propene oxide. For this purpose, two series of Ti-SBA-15 materials differing in their Ti content were prepared by either grafting or direct ...
