Efficient Reasoning With Consistent Proper Epistemic Knowledge Bases

International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, 2015
Reasoning about the nested beliefs or knowledge of other agents is essential for many collaborative and competitive tasks. However, reasoning with nested belief (for example through epistemic logics) is computationally expensive. Proper Epistemic Knowledge Bases (PEKBs) address this by enforcing syntactic restrictions on the knowledge base.

Proper tail recursion and space efficiency

Proceedings of the ACM SIGPLAN 1998 conference on Programming language design and implementation, 1998
The IEEE/ANSI standard for Scheme requires implementations to be properly tail recursive . This ensures that portable code can rely upon the space efficiency of continuation-passing style and other idioms. On its face, proper tail recursion concerns the efficiency of procedure calls that occur within a tail context.

Proper efficiency and vector variational inequalities

Journal of Information and Optimization Sciences, 2002
The relationship between vector variational inequalities and vector minimization problems are studied. We prove that, under some suitable convexity assumptions, the set of strong solutions of a vector variational inequality equals the set of Klinger properly efficient points for a vector minimization problem.
