PIV data reconstruction via proper orthogonal decomposition with a cross validation approach

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2014
In this research, unsteady particle image velocimetry (PIV) data are reconstructed / analyzed by a proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) with a cross validation approach.

Front Propagation Through a Perforated Wall

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We consider a bistable reaction– diffusion equation ut=Δu+f(u)$u_t=\Delta u +f(u)$ on RN${\mathbb {R}}^N$ in the presence of an obstacle K$K$, which is a wall of infinite span with many holes. More precisely, K$K$ is a closed subset of RN${\mathbb {R}}^N$ with smooth boundary such that its projection onto the x1$x_1$‐axis is bounded and that ...

Visualization and modal decomposition of vortex street behind circular cylinder

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Time resolved particle image velocimetry measurement of vortex street behind circular cylinder was carried out. Vorex street was measured for Reynolds numbers up to few thousands.

Applying Proper Orthogonal Decomposition to Parabolic Equations: A Reduced Order Numerical Approach [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin
In this paper we present a low-order numerical scheme developed using the Proper Orthogonal (POD) method to address non-homogeneous parabolic equations in both one and two dimensions.

Lagrangian Proper Orthogonal Decomposition

open access: yes
We introduce a modal representation for Lagrangian trajectories in turbulence, termed Lagrangian Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (LPOD). An ensemble of particle trajectories is used to construct velocity time series, which are normalized independently for each trajectory to isolate fluctuations.

Designing Governance for ESG: Incentive and Oversight Complementarities in Corporate Sustainability Performance

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how internal governance design supports credible ESG performance by distinguishing between Incentive and Oversight Architectures. Using 13,993 firm‐year observations of US nonfinancial firms from 2018 to 2024, we estimate fixed effects and two‐step system GMM models.

Refractive Index–Correlated Pseudocoloring for Adaptive Color Fusion in Holotomographic Cytology

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Conventional bright‐field (BF) cytology of thyroid fine‐needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) suffers from staining variability and limited subcellular contrast. Here, we present a refractive index–correlated pseudocoloring (RICP) framework that integrates quantitative refractive index (RI) maps obtained by holotomography (HT) with color BF images ...

Subspace Acceleration for Efficient Nonlinear Water Wave Simulation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
We introduce an exponentially weighted subspace acceleration technique to reduce GMRES iterations for solving the Poisson equation with time‐dependent coefficients in nonlinear, dispersive free‐surface flows governed by the incompressible Navier‐Stokes equations. The method significantly reduces memory requirements and computational complexity compared

Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) for Low-Latency Real-Time Cardiac MRI. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Med
ABSTRACT Purpose To demonstrate dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) for high spatiotemporal low‐latency online reconstruction in 2D real‐time cardiac MRI. Methods DMD was applied to 2D spiral balanced steady state free precession (bSSFP) real‐time adult and fetal cardiac MRI at 0.55 T, with data from 10 healthy adult volunteers (3F/7M; age: 21–49; BMI: 20–
