PROPERTY VALUES

open access: yesThe Proceedings of the Festschrift in Honor of Bruce H J Mckellar and Girish C Joshi, 2007
By ascribing a complex anticommuting variable ζ to each basic property of a field it is possible to describe all the fundamental particles as combinations of only five ζ and understand the occurrence of particle generations. An extension of space-time x to include property then specifies the 'where, when and what' of an event and allows for a ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Top Quark Properties

open access: yes, 2008
In this document we present several recent (July 2008) results from studies of the top quark properties at the CDF and D0 experiments at the Tevatron.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Effect of Si and Zr on the Microstructure and Properties of Al-Fe-Si-Zr Alloys

open access: yesMetals, 2017
The effects of Si and Zr on the microstructure, microhardness and electrical conductivity of Al-Fe-Si-Zr alloys were studied. An increase in the Zr content over 0.3 wt.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Mechanism of mechanical strength degradation and microstructure evolution of anthracite induced by supercritical carbon dioxide

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
In order to reveal the effect of supercritical carbon dioxide on the mechanical strength and microstructure of anthracite in the process of CO2 injection into deep coal seams, takes anthracite as the research object, the degradation characteristics of ...

Defining the Flora Family: Orbital Properties, Reflectance Properties and Age

open access: yes, 2014
The Flora family resides in the densely populated inner main belt, bounded in semimajor axis by the $\nu_6$ secular resonance and the Jupiter 3:1 mean motion resonance. The presence of several large families that overlap dynamically with the Floras (e.g.,

Neutrino properties [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1996
A brief sketch is made of the present observational status of neutrino properties, with emphasis on the hints from solar and atmospheric neutrinos, as well as cosmological data on the amplitude of primordial density fluctuations. Implications of neutrino mass in particle accelerators, astrophysics and cosmology are discussed.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
