Galactic Cosmic Ray Ionization on Uranus; Geomagnetic Latitude Dependencies

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs) are a major source of atmospheric ionization, influencing ion abundance, aerosol formation, and electrical processes. GCR‐induced effects are expected to be more pronounced on Uranus than planets closer to the Sun for two reasons; reduced solar irradiance, and weaker solar modulation of incident GCR.

DEVELOPMENT OF PEPTIDE-BASED METHODS FOR CONTROLLING THE STRUCTURES, COMPOSITIONS, AND PROPERTIES OF COMPLEX NANOPARTICLE SUPERSTRUCTURES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This dissertation describes the development of a nanoparticle assembly methodology based on the use of peptide conjugate molecules. The aim of this research was to explore how this methodology could be used to control the structure, metrics, and ...

Quantum GraviElectro Dynamics

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
The BRST invariant Lagrangian of the gravitationally interacting U(1)$U(1)$ gauge theory, namely the Quantum GraviElectro Dynamics (QGED). The Yan–Mills theory with the Hilbert–Einstein gravitational Lagrangian, namely the Yang–Mills–Utiyama (YMU) theory, is defined and quantised using the standard procedure. The theory is perturbatively renormalisable,

Special features of high energy hadrons in air showers

open access: yes, 1973
The properties of hadrons of energy 2.5*1010-1013 eV in air showers of size 5*104-3*106 particles at 800 cm-2 have been studied using a 2m2 multiplate cloud chamber as the hadron detector operated at the centre of the TIFR air shower array at Ootacamund.

DØ results on properties of excited and heavy b-hadrons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
"We present the latest results from the DO experiment on the properties of excited and heavy b-hadrons. DO collaboration has measured the Ab lifetime in semileptonic decays as well as in a fully reconstructed decay channel.

Assessing the Usefulness of Assurance Cases: Experience With the Large Hadron Collider

open access: yesSystems Engineering, Volume 29, Issue 1, Page 99-113, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Assurance cases (ACs) are structured arguments designed to show that a system is sufficiently reliable to function properly in its operational environment. They are mandated by safety standards and are largely used in industry to support risk management for systems; however, ACs often contain proprietary information and are not publicly ...

An Overview of Scale Invariance in Proton Structure With Holographic Insights

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The concept of self‐similarity in the internal structure of the proton, rooted in scale invariance and fractal geometry, provides an intriguing framework for understanding the behavior of parton distribution functions (PDFs), particularly in the small x region probed in deep inelastic scattering (DIS).

Hades experiments: investigation of hadron in-medium properties

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2013
Hadron modifications in nuclear matter are discussed in connection to chiral symmetry restoration and/or hadronic many body effects. Experiments with photon, proton and heavy ion beams are used to probe properties of hadrons embedded in nuclear matter at different temperatures and densities.

Hadron Properties with FLIC Fermions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Fat-Link Irrelevant Clover (FLIC) fermion action provides a new form of nonperturbative O(a)-improvement in lattice fermion actions offering near continuum results at finite lattice spacing. It provides computationally inexpensive access to the light quark mass regime of QCD where chiral nonanalytic behaviour associated with Goldstone bosons is ...

The Purely Leptonic and Semileptonic Decays of Ds∗ Meson

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
With the potential prospects of the Ds∗ at high‐luminosity heavy‐flavor experiments in the future, we investigated the CKM‐favored and tree‐dominated leptonic Ds∗⟶ℓν¯ℓ,ℓ=e,μ,τ and semileptonic Ds∗⟶Mℓ′ν¯ℓ′ M=ϕ,η′,K and ℓ′=e,μ weak decays in the standard model (SM).
