Summary Introduction Postoperative pain after cardiac surgery remains significant despite the administration of opioids. Methadone may improve pain control and decrease the need for postoperative opioids. Randomised controlled trials, however, are limited and the effects of cardiopulmonary bypass on methadone pharmacokinetics are unclear.

The aim of this study was to determine if ERCP related morbidity is higher if performed out of workinghours. Contemporaneously collected data patients undergoing ERCP at an Australian hospital were analysed. No difference was found in rates of post‐ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) in patients undergoing out of hours ERCP compared with in hours ERCP (p = 0.759).

Simultaneous Ex Situ Normothermic Perfusion of Paired Kidneys in Pigs
This pig model of simultaneous perfusion of paired kidneys in normothermia suggests that intra‐individual variation is relatively low, enabling one kidney to be employed as a reliable comparator of the other kidney for assessing treatments before kidney transplantation.
