A series of testing statistics for analysis of current status data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]Current status data arise when the failure time of interest is unable to observe. The observation consists only of a monitoring time and knowledge of whether the failure time occurred before or after the monitoring time.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Weighted Cox Regression Using the R Package coxphw

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2018
Cox's regression model for the analysis of survival data relies on the proportional hazards assumption. However, this assumption is often violated in practice and as a consequence the average relative risk may be under- or overestimated.

Likelihood-Based Estimation of a Proportional-Hazard, Competing- Risk Model with Grouped Duration Data [PDF]

open access: yes
This short paper demonstrates two important results related to the estimation of competing-risk models under the proportional-hazards assumption with grouped duration data.

Proportional hazards model : a review [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The proportional hazards model was introduced in 1972 by D. R. Cox in order to estimate the effects of different covariates influencing the times to the failures of a system.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Identification of a Specific Gene Module for Predicting Prognosis in Glioblastoma Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2019
Introduction: Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and malignant variant of intrinsic glial brain tumors. The poor prognosis of GBM has not significantly improved despite the development of innovative diagnostic methods and new therapies.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
