Facile Fabrication of Antibacterial 3D Fibrous Sponge via In Situ Protonation‐Induced Direct Electrospinning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work introduces a versatile and straightforward approach for directly fabricating electrospun 3D nanofibrous sponge using a selection of solvents, avoiding potentially toxic additives or additional steps. The most important novelty in this study is a one‐step electrospinning process that simultaneously imparts three‐dimensionality and ...

The prosody of commencing

open access: yesZbornik Akademije umetnosti, 2016
The paper considers the issues of modernism in the context of contemporariness in the author-work relation. The leitmotif is the appearance of the painted image in the situation of the painter's current viewpoint. The issue of commencing and realization is set as a correlation between the subject-author equipped with the viewpoint and the object-work ...

Leveraging Design of Experiments to Unravel the Amplification Mechanism of Single‐Molecule Wide‐Field Biosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Detecting single molecules on large interfaces is challenging due to minimal perturbations on the sensing surface. Some biological systems achieve this feat using amplification mechanisms, but their molecular foundations remain unclear. To investigate, a Design of Experiments (DoE) approach examines how pH and ionic strength in conditioning solutions ...

Iconic Prosody in Story Reading

open access: yesCognitive Sciences, 2015
Recent experiments have shown that people iconically modulate their prosody corresponding with the meaning of their utterance (e.g., Shintel et al., 2006).

An Atomic‐Scale View at γ’‐Fe4N as Hydrogen Barrier Material

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the efficacy of γ’‐Fe4N nitride layers, formed via gas nitriding, as hydrogen permeation barriers. Advanced characterization, hydrogen permeation analysis, and DFT calculations reveal a 20 fold reduction in hydrogen diffusion at room temperature.

Electrochemically‐Assisted Low Power Density Laser Writing on Stainless Steel via Enrichment of Chromium Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This research describes the invention of a new method to color the surface of stainless steel with brown to blue hues at micron resolution using a low‐power laser. This method is safer and lower cost than previous methods. The study determines that the main coloring compound is chromium oxide.
