The effect of prostaglandin E(1) (PGE(1)) on the water permeability response to vasopressin, theophylline, and cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate (C-AMP) of isolated, perfused collecting tubules of the rabbit was investigated in vitro. Prostaglandin is

PRRX2 is highly expressed in pancreatic cancer and correlates with patient prognosis. PRRX2 promotes pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, and inhibits pancreatic cancer cell senescence. PRRX2 transcriptionally regulates GLI2 and activates the Hedgehog pathway.

Management of early pregnancy loss with mifepristone and misoprostol: clinical predictors of treatment success from a randomized trial. [PDF]
BackgroundEarly pregnancy loss is a common event in the first trimester, occurring in 15%-20% of confirmed pregnancies. A common evidence-based medical regimen for early pregnancy loss uses misoprostol, a prostaglandin E1 analog, with a dosage of 800 μg,

Chloride secretory mechanism induced by prostaglandin E1 in a colonic epithelial cell line.
Confluent T84 monolayers grown on permeable supports and mounted in a modified Ussing chamber secrete chloride (Cl-) in response to prostaglandin E1. The threshold stimulation was observed at 10(-9) M and a maximal effect at 10(-6) M. Unidirectional flux

Female and male mice were fed manganese (Mn)‐depleted or Mn‐enriched diets in combination with either a low fat‐low sucrose (LFLS) or high fat‐high sucrose (HFHS) diet for 28 days. A sex‐specific metabolic response was observed under Mn‐depleted conditions, particularly affecting monoacylglycerol levels.

Identification of metabolites from peroxisomal beta-oxidation of prostaglandins.
We have recently shown that isolated rat liver peroxisomes can chain-shorten prostaglandin F2 alpha and prostaglandin E2 to tetranor-metabolites. In the present report dinor-metabolites of these two prostaglandins were also identified, suggesting that ...

Mechanical Biomimetic Nanocomposites for Multidimensional Treatment of Arterial Thrombosis
In this study, a mechanical biomimetic nanocomposite is developed, guided by photoacoustic imaging, to achieve highly efficient and safe thrombolysis through the synergistic effects of photothermal therapy and pharmacological intervention. Most notably, the nanoparticle improves the microenvironment of arterial thrombi, marked by high shear stress and ...
