Prostaglandins and Hypertension
American Journal of Hypertension, 1989Alterations in renal prostaglandins (PG) have been reported in hypertensive animals and in essential hypertension. Some alterations in the pattern of PG are more likely to be secondary to hypertension, whereas others may reflect a defective adaptation to the hypertensive state thus contributing to the rise in blood pressure.

Prostaglandins and Hypertension
1984The level of arterial blood pressure is set by a complex interrelationship of several mechanisms which influence both blood flow in and resistance of the vascular system. An imbalance which favours those mechanisms that elevate vascular resistance or extracellular volume will result in hypertension.
