Sensor Fusion for Predictive Control of Human-Prosthesis-Environment Dynamics in Assistive Walking: A Survey [PDF]
This survey paper concerns Sensor Fusion for Predictive Control of Human-Prosthesis-Environment Dynamics in Assistive Walking. The powered lower limb prosthesis can imitate the human limb motion and help amputees to recover the walking ability, but it is still a challenge for amputees to walk in complex environments with the powered prosthesis ...

Semi-autonomous Prosthesis Control Using Minimal Depth Information and Vibrotactile Feedback [PDF]
A semi-autonomous prosthesis control based on computer vision can be used to improve performance while decreasing the cognitive burden, especially when using advanced systems with multiple functions. However, a drawback of this approach is that it relies on the complex processing of a significant amount of data (e.g., a point cloud provided by a depth ...

Design, Implementation and Evaluation of a Variable Stiffness Transradial Hand Prosthesis [PDF]
We present the design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of a low-cost, customizable, easy-to-use transradial hand prosthesis capable of adapting its compliance. Variable stiffness actuation (VSA) of the prosthesis is based on antagonistically arranged tendons coupled to nonlinear springs driven through a Bowden cable-based power transmission.
