Microseismicity in the Large‐N Swath‐D Network: Revealing Seismic Sequences and Active Faults in the Eastern Alps

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract Uniformly spaced large‐N seismic networks like the Swath‐D (2017–2019), a densified part of the AlpArray initiative, provide unmatched opportunities to study microseismic activity and fault structures. Here, we show how the combined analysis of spatially and temporally clustered seismicity, precise relocations, waveform‐based clustering, and ...

Ecological and intrinsic drivers of foraging parameters of Eurasian lynx at a continental scale

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 94, Issue 1, Page 154-167, January 2025.
Our paper is the first study showing the variation of standardised foraging parameters of a large carnivore across large environmental gradients at a continental scale. We highlight the often‐neglected human impact on foraging abilities. We also documented an exceptionally high degree of adaptability of solitary felids.

Temporal variation in habitat quality shapes the distribution–abundance relationship in waterbirds at landscape scale

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2024.
Abstract The distribution–abundance relationship (DAR) is a well‐established macroecological pattern, where more locally abundant species are also more widespread across landscapes. However, it is not clear whether this relationship is temporally invariant, or how destabilization may manifest. Here, we examine the DAR at the landscape level in a unique
