Genetic Mapping of Orofacial Traits Reveals a Single Genomic Region Associated With Differences in Multiple Parameters of Jaw Size Between Astyanax mexicanus Surface and Cavefish

By performing a genetic association study in cave × surface fish F2 hybrids, we discovered that premaxilla width, dentary length, and maxillary length are all significantly associated with a region on Chromosome 13 containing 109 genes.
