Mixed‐methods systematic review exploring the associations underpinning active outdoor play with connection to nature and environmental stewardship

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.

Varied motivations for secondary forest reclearing among landholders make forest persistence challenging

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Remote sensing studies show that ephemeral forest regeneration is widespread in the tropics, limiting the climate and biodiversity benefits from net increases in forest cover. Socioeconomic, biophysical and landscape variables can help explain the spatial distribution of reforestation reversals.

A synthetic eco‐evolutionary proposal for the conservation of wild relatives of the olive tree

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Societal Impact Statement Crop wild relatives (CWR) are valuable sources of genetic diversity for plant breeding. We propose a methodology to guide the identification and conservation of these resources that integrates both genetic

Repeated trends in altitudinal gradients of diversity: How habitat filtering and biotic interactions structure ecological communities

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that tropical butterfly communities show remarkably consistent elevational patterns of diversity and phylogenetic structure across regions with contrasting evolutionary histories, demonstrating how regional species pools and local ecological factors jointly shape biodiversity along altitudinal gradients.

ABSTRACT In Spain, under General Franco's regime, homosexuality was regarded as an antisocial and dangerous behaviour. It was thus pursued both by the police and judicial courts.
