Ten year change in forest succession and composition measured by remote sensing [PDF]

open access: yes
Vegetation dynamics and changes in ecological patterns were measured by remote sensing over a 10 year period (1973 to 1983) for 148,406 landscape elements, covering more than 500 sq km in a protected forested wilderness.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Visitor profiling for cable car mountain destinations as a basis for protected area management : a case study of the summer season in the Tatra Mountains at Kasprowy Wierch (Poland) and Skalnaté Pleso (Slovakia) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Protected areas play a crucial role in the conservation of vulnerable mountain ecosystems, but at the same time they may serve as tourist destinations and attract large numbers of visitors. Areas located in close proximity to cable cars belong to some of

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...

Le patrimoine paysager comme élément constitutif d’un espace de nature protégé touristique

open access: yesProjets de Paysage, 2013
The landscape in protected areas is often linked to the notion of “natural heritage.” Protected areas generally have two missions, environmental protection and tourism, with the latter often considered as something bad for the landscape.

Multibit Ferroelectric HfZrO Memcapacitor for Non‐Volatile Analogue Memory and Reconfigurable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric memcapacitors enable non‐volatile, voltage‐programmable capacitance tuning for adaptive electronics. A TiN/HfZrO/TiN device stack demonstrates more than eight stable capacitance states within a 24 pF memory window in compact 60 ×$\times$ 60 μm2$\umu{\rm m}^{2}$ devices at low operating voltages.

Recognition of indicative landscape objects within protected areas

open access: yesVisnyk of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, series Geology. Geography. Ecology, 2020
Formulation of the problem. In this article the author describes monitoring of landscape objects within protected area. We created 'image of landscape' from remote sensing data. The developed methodology allows to obtain remotely information about visual changes, to analyze and predict the further development of landscapes of the facies level.
