AONT-LT: a Data Protection Scheme for Cloud and Cooperative Storage Systems

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a variant of the well-known AONT-RS scheme for dispersed storage systems. The novelty consists in replacing the Reed-Solomon code with rateless Luby transform codes.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Fast compressed domain watermarking of MPEG multiplexed streams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper, a new technique for watermarking of MPEG compressed video streams is proposed. The watermarking scheme operates directly in the domain of MPEG multiplexed streams.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Desat Protection With Ultrafast Response for High-Voltage SiC MOSFETs With High dv/dt

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Industry Applications
This article presents a desat protection scheme with the ultrafast response for high-voltage (>3.3 kV) SiC MOSFETs. Its working principle is the same as the conventional desat protection designed for high-voltage SiC MOSFETs, yet its blanking time is ...

Efficacy of biological and chemical protection agents in barley cultivation [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The study investigated the efficacy of biological and chemical protection agents in barley cultivation. The experiment was performed on leached chernozem soil, with four replications and 0.1 ha plot sizes. The spring barley variety ‘Oplot’ was sown using

Using dark modes for high-fidelity optomechanical quantum state transfer

open access: yes, 2012
In a recent publication [Y.D. Wang and A.A. Clerk, Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 153603 (2012)], we demonstrated that one can use interference to significantly increase the fidelity of state transfer between two electromagnetic cavities coupled to a common ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Research on sub-station-area breaker failure protection based on the principle of current differential

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
On the basis of the principle of breaker failure protection delay and the analysis of the main factors which affect the protection, a sub-station-area breaker failure and dead-zone protection technical scheme based on the current differential principle ...
