In Vitro Evaluation of Antipseudomonal Activity and Safety Profile of Peptidomimetic Furin Inhibitors

open access: yesBiomedicines
Inhibitors of the serine protease furin have been widely studied as antimicrobial agents due to their ability to block the cleavage and activation of certain viral surface proteins and bacterial toxins.

Cyclosporin A-binding protein (cyclophilin) of Neurospora crassa [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Cyclophilin (cyclosporin A-binding protein) has a dual localization in the mitochondria and in the cytosol of Neurospora crassa. The two forms are encoded by a single gene which is transcribed into mRNAs having different lengths and 5' termini ...

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Selection of an Optimal Metabolic Model for Accurately Predicting the Hepatic Clearance of Albumin-Binding-Sensitive Drugs

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background/Objectives: Hepatic clearance is important in determining clinical drug administration strategies. Achieving accurate hepatic clearance predictions through in vitro-to-in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) relies on appropriate model selection, which ...

The role of protein interaction domains in the human cancer network [PDF]

open access: yesNetwork Biology, 2011
Protein-protein interaction networks provide a global picture of cellular function and biological processes. Proteins interact largely through specific domains which constitute the main building blocks of an interaction network.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Quantification of Total and Unbound Selinexor Concentrations in Human Plasma by a Fully Validated Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry Method

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Background/Objectives: Selinexor is a selective nuclear-export inhibitor approved for hematologic malignancies, characterized by extensive plasma protein binding (>95%). However, a validated analytical method to accurately measure the clinically relevant
