Biochemical studies on plant glycerol-3- phosphate acyltransferase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
sn-Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase [G3PAT, PlsB (E.coli), EC 2.3.1.15] is an enzyme involved in glycerolipid biosynthesis, catalysing the acylation of glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) to produce lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). Chilling tolerance in plants is

MASH Background Confers Enhanced Disease Susceptibility and Acetaminophen Toxicity in iPSC‐Derived Liver Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work establishes a novel method for generating multicellular liver organoids from control and MASH donor iPSCs. The model recapitulates several disease‐specific characteristics, with MASH donor‐derived organoids showing higher susceptibility. Lipidomic profiling of MASH organoids closely resembles MASH liver biopsies.

Coordinated improvement of maize grain yield and protein quality by the ZmMADS8-ZmMADS47-O2 module and a G protein gamma subunit

open access: yesCrop Journal
Improving protein quality and grain yield traits coordinately is an important goal for crop breeding. To date, many protein-quality or grain-yield regulation genes have been identified.

UDP‐Glucose‐6‐Dehydrogenase Mediated O‐GlcNAcylation of Tight Junction Protein 1 Suppresses Metastasis in Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our research unveiled a regulatory paradigm wherein TRIM25 orchestrates the ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of UGDH. UGDH modulates the protein stability of TJP1 by regulating O‐GlcNAcylation levels, effectively impeding the metastasis of ccRCC. Our insights elevate UGDH to a pivotal biomarker and tumor suppressor, marking the first demonstration that ...

NECAB family of neuronal calcium-binding proteins in health and disease

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
The N-terminal EF-hand calcium-binding proteins 1–3 (NECAB1–3) constitute a family of predominantly neuronal proteins characterized by the presence of at least one EF-hand calcium-binding domain and a functionally less well characterized C-terminal ...

Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,
