Protein Expression Profiling

2009
Protein expression profiling is defined in general as identifying the proteins expressed in a particular tissue, under a specified set of conditions and at a particular time, usually compared to expression in reference samples. This information is useful in drug discovery and diagnosis as well as in understanding response mechanisms at the protein ...

Protein Derivitization-Expressed Protein Ligation

2014
Expressed protein ligation (EPL) combines two methods to ligate a synthetic peptide to a recombinant protein. Native chemical ligation (NCL) is a process in which two synthesized peptides are ligated by reaction of a C-terminal thioester on one peptide with an N-terminal cysteine residue of another protein.

Protein Expression in Liposomes

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1999
Compartmentalization is one of the key steps in the evolution of cellular structures and, so far, only few attempts have been made to model this kind of "compartmentalized chemistry" using liposomes. The present work shows that even such complex reactions as the ribosomal synthesis of polypeptides can be carried out in liposomes.
