Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

To enhance the functional properties of walnut protein isolate (WalPI), hydrophilic whey protein isolate (WPI) was selected to formulate WalPI-WPI nanoparticles (nano-WalPI-WPI) via a pH cycling technique. These nano-WalPI-WPI particles were subsequently

Electrofocusing and protein detection and isolation [PDF]
PROTEINS are generally least hydrated and least soluble at their respective isoelectric points. In this connection the process of electrofocusing of proteins (Svenson, 1962; Vesterberg & Svenson, 1966) is relevant. In this method several proteins are electrophoretically propelled-through an electrophoretically established pH gradient-until they reach ...

Clonal analysis and virulence of Australian isolates of Streptococcus suis type 2 [PDF]
Multilocus enzyme electrophoresis was used to divide 124 Australian isolates of Streptococcus suis type 2 into 17 electrophoretic types (ETs). Isolates in ET 1 were the most frequent cause of disease amongst Western Australian pigs, but isolates of ET 8 ...

Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Optimization and Characterization of Protein Extraction from Asparagus Leafy By-Products
Asparagus production generates significant amounts of by-products during the summer and post-harvest growth period. By-products can be good sources of nutrients and phytochemicals.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
