This study focused on the production of protein isolates from mantis shrimp (MS). The pH-shift method was investigated to understand its impact on the protein yield, quality, and properties of the produced isolates. The first step was determining how the

Isolation of multiple subspecies of Bacillus thuringiensis from a population of the European sunflower moth, Homoeosoma nebulella [PDF]
Five subspecies of #Bacillus thuringiensis# were isolated from dead and diseased larvae obtained from a laboratory colony of the European sunflower moth, #Homoeosoma nebulella#. The subspecies isolated were #B. thuringiensis# subspp.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

The aim of this study was to produce texturized vegetable proteins (TVPs) from faba bean protein via low-moisture extrusion. The effect of extrusion variables including temperature (110, 125, and 140 °C at the die), feed moisture content (30, 35, and 40%)

A lymphoma plasma membrane-associated protein with ankyrin-like properties. [PDF]
In this study we have used several complementary techniques to isolate and characterize a 72-kD polypeptide that is tightly associated with a major mouse T-lymphoma membrane glycoprotein, gp 85 (a wheat germ agglutinin-binding protein), in a 16 S complex.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
