pERK Detection Assays Using the Surefire AlphaScreen® Kit (TGR Biosciences and PerkinElmer)
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1 and 2 (ERK1/2) are serine/threonine protein kinases that are phosphorylated on Thr202/Tyr204 (ERK1) and Thr185/Tyr187 (ERK2).

Protein Expression, Characterization and Activity Comparisons of Wild Type and Mutant DUSP5 Proteins [PDF]
Background The mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) pathway is critical for cellular signaling, and proteins such as phosphatases that regulate this pathway are important for normal tissue development.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Proteomic study of the membrane components of signalling cascades of Botrytis cinerea controlled by phosphorylation [PDF]
Protein phosphorylation and membrane proteins play an important role in the infection of plants by phytopathogenic fungi, given their involvement in signal transduction cascades.

The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

Identification of a differentially expressed mRNA in axenic Leishmania panamensis amastigotes
Differential display technique was applied in order to identify transcripts which are present in axenic amastigotes but not in promastigotes of the Leishmania panamensis parasites.

Post‐surgical tumor therapy struggles with recurrence and inefficient healing. Anti‐tumor DNA aptamer functionalized gelatin hydrogels, Apt‐GelMA, simultaneously address both issues by suppressing tumor regrowth via targeted tumor cell inhibition and enhancing wound healing through improved cell adhesion and migration. Their biocompatibility, stability,
