The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

The Molecular Basis of Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
After cardiovascular diseases, cancer is the second leading cause of death in America. Since 1990 over half a million Americans have died each year of some form of cance1; and the number and rate is still increasing.

Antibody‐Programmable Bimetallic Nanozymes for Transcriptional Blockade Therapy in HER2/ER‐Positive Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zr‐Fe MOF@Ribociclib@Herceptin (ZFRH) efficiently targets/kills Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2/Estrogen Receptor‐positive (HER2/ER+) breast cancer cells. It combats tumors by: 1) Elevating ROS, altering redox balance; 2) Inhibiting transcription; 3) Inducing pyroptosis.

Liquid Crystalline Networks Hamper the Malignancy of Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Liquid Crystalline Networks are used as scaffolds for the growth of A375 melanoma cells demonstrating to affect their malignancy. Indeed, only by contact, these materials reduces cell proliferation and colony formation capacity, while increasing the number of senescent cells and promoting the mesenchymal to epithelial transition.
