Correlation of long interspersed element-1 open reading frame 1 and c-Met proto-oncogene protein expression in primary and recurrent colorectal cancers [PDF]

open access: diamondKosin Medical Journal, 2022
Background Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Colorectal cancer that has recurred and metastasized to other organs also has a very poor prognosis.

Induction of c-Met Proto-Oncogene by Epstein-Barr Virus Latent Membrane Protein-1 and the Correlation with Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe American Journal of Pathology, 2001
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is distinctive in head and neck carcinomas for its close association with Epstein-Barr virus and its highly metastatic nature. Up-regulation of cell motility is essential for enhancement of metastatic potential. The expression of c-Met proto-oncogene, a high-affinity receptor for hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor ...

MET alterations and therapeutic strategies in non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报, 2022
Mesenchymal to epithelial transition factor (MET) often plays a crucial role in cell homeostasis, motility and apoptosis, while its alterations can promote the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of tumors cells. In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC),

The benefit of co-targeting PARP-1 and c-Met on the efficacy of radiotherapy in wild type BRAF melanoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2023
Melanoma is known to be a radioresistant cancer. Melanoma radioresistance can be due to several factors such as pigmentation, antioxidant defenses and high Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) repair efficacy.

Expression of c-MET in Invasive Meningioma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Pathology and Translational Medicine, 2015
Background: Meningiomas show high recurrence rates even after curative tumor removal. The invasiveness of meningiomas may contribute to their high recurrence rates.

Efficacy and safety of immunotherapy combined with single-agent chemotherapy as second- or later-line therapy for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
ObjectiveThis study sought to assess the efficacy and safety of immunotherapy combined with single-agent chemotherapy as a second- or later-line setting for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to provide clinical evidence for this treatment

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.
