Development of new proton conducting materials for intermediate temperature fuel cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The work in this thesis mainly focuses on the preparation and characterization of several phosphates and solid oxide systems with the aim of developing new proton conducting materials for intermediate temperature fuel cells (ITFCs). Soft chemical methods

Inherent Proton Conduction in a 2D Coordination Framework [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We synthesized a coordination polymer consisting of Zn2+, 1,2,4-triazole, and orthophosphates, and demonstrated for the first time intrinsic proton conduction by a coordination network.

Exceptionally high proton conductivity in Eu2O3 by proton-coupled electron transfer mechanism

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Proton conductors are typically developed by doping to introduce structural defects such as oxygen vacancies to facilitate ionic transport through structural bulk conduction mechanism.

Stereochemistry-Dependent Proton Conduction in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Graphene oxide (GO) is impermeable to H2 and O2 fuels while permitting H+ shuttling, making it a potential candidate for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), albeit with a large anisotropy in their proton transport having a dominant in plane (σIP)

Proton and oxygen ion conduction in nonoxide ceramics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
By directly examining fuel cell performances, it was discovered that nonoxide containing materials such as chlorides and fluorides exhibit significant proton and oxygen ion conduction.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
