Fabrication of Composite Membrane Based on Silicotungstic Heteropolyacid Doped Polybenzimidazole for High Temperature PEMFC

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2012
Stable proton conducting composite membranes (CM1-CM3) based on polybenzimidazole (PBI) and various weight percent (35, 50 and 65 wt %) of inorganic hetero poly acids (IHA) were prepared by dissolving PBI in methanesulfonic acid and required amount of ...

Preparation and Proton Exchange Properties of GO Grafting modified Cross-linked Membranes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2018
The cross-linked membranes were prepared with DS 68% SPEEK and epoxy resin. Sulfonated graphite oxide was grafted into SPEEK main bonds to study the sulfonic acid groups on the impact of proton exchange properties. Using solartron electrochemical testing

Physicochemical properties of proton-conducting SmNiO3 epitaxial films

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics, 2019
Proton conducting SmNiO3 (SNO) thin films were grown on (001) LaAlO3 substrates for systematically investigating the proton transport properties. X-ray Diffraction and Atomic Force Microscopy studies reveal that the as-grown SNO thin films have good ...

Prediction and exploration of proton conductivity using machine learning in proton-conducting ceramics [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Advances
Proton-conducting ceramic fuel cells, a type of solid-oxide fuel cell, are being considered for use at 300–600 °C due to their electrolyte properties. Therefore, we used machine learning to identify new materials that exhibit high proton conductivity at ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Proton Conduction via Water Bridges Hydrated in the Collagen Film

open access: yesJournal of Functional Biomaterials, 2020
Collagen films with proton conduction are a candidate of next generation of fuel-cell electrolyte. To clarify a relation between proton conductivity and formation of water networks in the collagen film originating from a tilapia’s scale, we ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
