Radical Mediated Rapid In Vitro Formation of c-Type Cytochrome
A cytochrome c552 mutant from Thermus thermophilus HB8 (rC552 C14A) was reported, where the polypeptide with replaced Cys14 by alanine, overexpressed in the cytosol of E. coli.

Electron-capture—Induced dissociation of protoporphyrin IX ions [PDF]
Electron-capture induced dissociation of protoporphyrin cations and anions has been studied. The cations captured two electrons in two successive collisions and were converted to the corresponding even-electron anions. About one fifth of the ions lost a hydrogen atom to become radical anions but otherwise very little fragmentation was observed.

Inactivation of Dengue and Yellow Fever viruses by heme, cobalt-protoporphyrin IX and tin-protoporphyrin IX [PDF]
To investigate the effect of heme, cobalt-protoporphyrin IX and tin-protoporphyrin IX (CoPPIX and SnPPIX), macrocyclic structures composed by a tetrapyrrole ring with a central metallic ion, on Dengue Virus (DENV) and Yellow Fever Virus (YFV) infection.Treatment of HepG2 cells with heme, CoPPIX and SnPPIX after DENV infection reduced infectious ...

ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling
ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.

Catalytic Amyloids: Turning Fibrils Into Biocatalysts
Amyloids, traditionally associated with diseases, have emerged as versatile catalytic scaffolds. From natural amyloid sequences to bioinspired and de novo designs, we highlight strategies to construct catalytic active sites and anchor enzymes onto fibrils, creating versatile nanomaterials with tunable activities. ABSTRACT Amyloids have been regarded as
