Neural Representations of Grasp Congruence During the Emergence of Precision Grasping

open access: yesInfancy, Volume 30, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Grasping is a fundamental skill that enables people to interface with and explore objects around them. The emergence of precision (thumb‐to‐forefinger) grasping during infancy represents a developmental shift in this skill and has been linked to more advanced action perception, particularly in detecting action incongruencies.

Fine‐Grained Concreteness Effects on Word Processing and Representation Across Three Tasks: An ERP Study

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 62, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT People process concrete words more quickly and accurately than abstract ones—the so‐called “concreteness effect.” This advantage also reflects differences in how the brain processes and stores concrete versus abstract words. In this electrophysiological study, we treated word concreteness as a continuous variable and examined its effects on ...

Altered Patterns of Dynamic Functional Connectivity Underpin Reduced Expressions of Social–Emotional Reciprocity in Autistic Adults

open access: yesAutism Research, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 725-740, April 2025.
ABSTRACT To identify the neurocognitive mechanisms underpinning the social difficulties that characterize autism, we performed functional magnetic resonance imaging on pairs of autistic and non‐autistic adults simultaneously whilst they interacted with one another on the iterated Ultimatum Game (iUG)—an interactive task that emulates the reciprocal ...

The Association Between Social Media Addiction and Aggressive Behaviors: A Longitudinal and Gender‐Specific Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Adolescence, Volume 97, Issue 3, Page 798-807, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Recent evidence demonstrates an association between social media addiction (SMA) and aggressive behaviors; however, the longitudinal relationship between these two variables remains not fully understood. The aim of this study was to examine the longitudinal relationship between SMA and aggressive behaviors (overt and relational ...

Naturalistic Audiovisual Illusions Reveal the Cortical Sites Involved in the Multisensory Processing of Speech

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 61, Issue 5, March 2025.
We designed innovative audiovisual speech illusions and used intracranial EEG to localize the cortical sites of multisensory speech processing. Whereas sites that tracked the auditory and visual components of speech stimuli concentrated in the respective sensory cortices, sites that were sensitive to the interaction between the auditory and visual ...

On the use of Ajisai and Jason-1 satellites for tests of General Relativity

open access: yes, 2005
Here we analyze in detail some aspects of the proposed use of Ajisai and Jason-1, together with the LAGEOS satellites, to measure the general relativistic Lense-Thirring effect in the gravitational field of the Earth. A linear combination of the nodes of
