Pathogenesis of Providencia alcalifaciens-induced diarrhea [PDF]
Providencia alcalifaciens is a member of the family Enterobacteriaceae. There are reports that P. alcalifaciens can cause diarrhea, but the mechanism(s) by which it causes diarrhea is known. We studied P. alcalifaciens isolated from a child and two adults with diarrhea for enteropathogenicity.

Molecular basis of antibiotic sensing by the TetR family regulator CecR – a structural perspective
Escherichia coli CecR, a member of the TetR family regulators, senses selected antibiotics and activates the expression of a putative drug efflux pump. Although present in many pathogenic Enterobacteriales strains, CecR remains poorly characterized. We present the first CecR crystal structure, which reveals a unique tunnel‐like ligand‐binding cavity ...

Abstract Background The accelerated aging process in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMIC) has led to an increased prevalence of non‐communicable diseases, including dementia, a leading cause of disability in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Executive and physical performance dysfunction accelerates functional decline in older adults.

Deformed Boson Scheme in Time-Dependent Variational Method. I [PDF]
Various aspects of the deformed boson scheme are investigated with aiming of applying to the time-dependent variational method for many-boson system. The case of the multiboson states is also discussed.

A Role of the Quasiparticle in the Conservation of the Fermion Number
The role of the "quasiparticle" introduced in last paper by the present authors is discussed. It serves as a guide for the deformation of the Cooper-pair in the BCS-Bogoliubov approach. As an illustrative example, a certain case is treated.

Spin polarization in high density quark matter under a strong external magnetic field [PDF]
In high density quark matter under a strong external magnetic field, possible phases are investigated by using the two-flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with tensor-type four-point interaction between quarks, as well as the axial-vector-type four-point ...

A Note on the Eigenvalue Problem in the su(1,1)-Algebra
Normalization constant in the eigenstate appearing in the eigenvalue problem of the su(1,1)-algebra is discussed. This normalization constant is expressed in terms of the Gauss' hypergeometric series which is not absolutely convergent.
