Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

An Ensemble Model for Co-Seismic Landslide Susceptibility Using GIS and Random Forest Method

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2017
The Mw 7.8 Gorkha earthquake of 25 April 2015 triggered thousands of landslides in the central part of the Nepal Himalayas. The main goal of this study was to generate an ensemble-based map of co-seismic landslide susceptibility in Sindhupalchowk ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Impact of electrode–tissue proximity on formation of pulsed field ablation lesions: Using multi-electrode impedance measurements

open access: yesHeart Rhythm O2
Background: For pulsed field ablation (PFA), the effect of electrode–tissue contact or proximity remains unclear. Objective: In this porcine study, the effect of electrode–tissue proximity was studied after 3 weeks of follow-up, using a custom device in ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Topological invariant for two-dimensional open systems

open access: yes, 2018
We study the topology of two-dimensional open systems in terms of the Green's function. The Ishikawa-Matsuyama formula for the integer topological invariant is applied in open systems, which indicates the number difference of gapless edge bands arising ...
