A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Dual-Fiberoptic Microcantilever Proximity Sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Microcantilevers are key components of many Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and Micro-Optical-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MOEMS) because slight changes to them physically or chemically lead to changes in mechanical characteristics. An inexpensive

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Geometric observation model based on proximity sensor for standing/sitting behaviors

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
This paper introduces a distance-based observation model for standing and sitting behaviors by using a proximity sensor as an interface function toward the development of a novel lower-limb assist robot.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Optical proximity sensor

open access: yes, 2015
A proximity sensor is a device that can detect when target objects are nearby. These sensors can be used by RFID readers, automatic door openers, liquid tanks, motion detectors, and any number of systems that only need to work when something is nearby ...

SIMPLE NONCONTACT MULTIMODE FIBEROPTIC PROXIMITY SENSOR.

open access: yes, 1986
A noncontact proximity sensor built with plastic multimode fibers is presented. The sensor is based on the measurements of the intensity variations of the light scattered by a mobile rough object illuminated with several focused beams.
