The Role of Toll Like Receptors in Pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fertility and Sterility, 2013
For many years, the innate immunity was of less interest than the adaptive immunity because it was perceived to have secondary importance in the functionality of the immune system.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

The Impact of PRRS Eradication Program on the Production Parameters of the Hungarian Swine Sector

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Background: The Hungarian national eradication program of PRRS was successfully completed between 2014 and 2022. There were doubts about the efficiency of the eradication program in Hungary from the beginning to the tune that it might only be carried out

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

The Roles of Innate Immune Cells in Atopic Dermatitis

open access: yesJournal of Innate Immunity
Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by recurrent eczematous lesions and severe pruritus. The economic burden and time penalty caused by the relapse of AD reduce patients’ life quality. Summary: AD has

Host Genetics of Response to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in Sows: Antibody Response as an Indicator Trait for Improved Reproductive Performance

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Antibody response to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus (PRRSV) infection, measured as sample-to-positive (S/P) ratio, has been proposed as an indicator trait for improved reproductive performance during a PRRS outbreak in ...

Stable Protein‐Based G‐Quadruplex‐Derived Supramolecular Bioinks as Tunable ECM‐Mimetic Constructs Assembled by Combining Non‐Covalent and Covalent Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing the synergistic interplay of supramolecular self‐assembly, under macromolecular crowding conditions, and enzymatic‐mediated covalent crosslinking toward a stable protein‐based G‐quadruplex‐derived supramolecular bioink. This bioinspired strategy enables the biofabrication of complex and tunable ECM‐mimetic constructs, providing a platform ...

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) developments: An in-depth review of recent findings

open access: yesOpen Veterinary Journal
The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus (PRRSV) belonging to the Arteriviridae family is the cause of PRRS disease. After being discovered for the first time in the United States in 1987, this illness quickly expanded to Canada ...

A Porcine Myelomonocytic Cell Line, 3D4/31 is Susceptible to PRRSV Infection in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
PRRS virus has been characterized into two genotypes, North American (NA) and European (EU). It has been reported that MA-104 and Marc-145 cells were the only permissive continuous cell lines to PRRS virus infection where the EU PRRS virus required ...
