Abstract Efforts to strengthen inclusive practice in education have been found to be underpinned by encounters with dilemmas. In particular, much has been written about the ‘dilemma of difference’, which is the perceived tension between wanting to provide for individual needs in education and wanting to avoid stigmatising individuals by treating them ...

Localized EIS Data for Capacity and SOH Prediction With Neural Networks
This study showed a higher accurate capacity and state of health predictions using solely the most correlated frequencies for a neural network model. Findings showed that the charge transfer region is essential for battery prognosis studies, reducing the time needed for battery characterization using impedance.

Decay Pruning Method: Smooth Pruning With a Self-Rectifying Procedure [PDF]
Current structured pruning methods often result in considerable accuracy drops due to abrupt network changes and loss of information from pruned structures. To address these issues, we introduce the Decay Pruning Method (DPM), a novel smooth pruning approach with a self-rectifying mechanism.

Targeted genome mining identified thermostable enzymes (PETases) that hydrolyze the commonly used plastic polymer polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Thermostable enzymes are identified from thermophilic microbial sources. Experimental results reveal enzymatic activity on authentic PET films, highlighting potential for industrial application.

Mosaic: Composite Projection Pruning for Resource-efficient LLMs [PDF]
Extensive compute and memory requirements limit the deployment of large language models (LLMs) on any hardware. Compression methods, such as pruning, can reduce model size, which in turn reduces resource requirements. State-of-the-art pruning is based on coarse-grained methods.
