Enhancing Maturation of Human Neuromuscular Organoids via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A framework for on‐demand and non‐invasive exposure of human neuromuscular organoids (NMOs) to electrical stimuli is established to promote their maturation. The robustness and effectiveness of different stimulation regimes are evaluated via thorough characterization of organoid tissue structure and contraction capacity. Chronic electrical stimulation,

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Debonding localization in connected panels using nonlinear pseudo-forces across higher to sideband harmonics

open access: yese-Journal of Nondestructive Testing
Given the critical importance of structural integrity and safety, there is significant demand to localise local debondings in laminated panels. The existing linear pseudo-force (LPF) model treats local damage as virtual forces applied exclusively within

Astrocytic Phenotypic Switching in Posterior Piriform Cortex Orchestrates Bone Cancer Pain–Depression Comorbidity via Purinergic–Noradrenergic Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.

Engineering of Crystal and Domain Structures in Epitaxial Y:HfO2 Thin Films by YSZ Substrate Miscut

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate how YSZ substrate miscut influences crystal structure and domain formation in epitaxial Y‐doped HfO2 thin films. Using magnetron sputtering, high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction, atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy, and first‐principles calculations, we systematically examine the characteristics of thickness‐ and ...

Strain‐Preserving Transfer of Freestanding Oxide Membranes for Tunable Magnetic Anisotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An epoxy‐assisted exfoliation and transfer strategy circumvents the trade‐off between structural flexibility and strain tunability in freestanding oxide membranes. Epitaxial strain is effectively preserved, enabling versatile and robust control of magnetic anisotropy without sacrificing flexibility.

Microeconometric analysis of book reading in unequal urban contexts. The case of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia)

open access: yesCuadernos de Economía
Among the major Colombian cities, Cartagena de Indias exhibits the lowest book reading habit. This paper empirically analyses the factors associated with book reading as a form of cultural participation between 2011 and 2019.
