Pseudodifferential Weyl Calculus on (Pseudo-)Riemannian Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Henri Poincaré, 2020
AbstractOne can argue that on flat space $${\mathbb {R}}^d$$Rd, the Weyl quantization is the most natural choice and that it has the best properties (e.g., symplectic covariance, real symbols correspond to Hermitian operators). On a generic manifold, there is no distinguished quantization, and a quantization is typically defined chart-wise.

Indefinite Kasparov Modules and Pseudo-Riemannian Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Henri Poincaré, 2016
We present a definition of indefinite Kasparov modules, a generalisation of unbounded Kasparov modules modelling non-symmetric and non-elliptic (e.g. hyperbolic) operators. Our main theorem shows that to each indefinite Kasparov module we can associate a pair of (genuine) Kasparov modules, and that this process is reversible.

There Are No Conformal Einstein Rescalings of Pseudo-Riemannian Einstein Spaces with n Complete Light-Like Geodesics

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In the present paper, we study conformal mappings between a connected n-dimension pseudo-Riemannian Einstein manifolds. Let g be a pseudo-Riemannian Einstein metric of indefinite signature on a connected n-dimensional manifold M.

Characterizing Affine Vector Fields on Pseudo-Riemannian Manifolds

open access: yesAxioms
We study the characteristics of affine vector fields on pseudo-Riemannian manifolds and provide tensorial formulas that characterize these vector fields.

Quasi-Statistical Schouten–van Kampen Connections on the Tangent Bundle

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
We determine the general natural metrics G on the total space TM of the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold (M,g) such that the Schouten–van Kampen connection ∇¯ associated to the Levi-Civita connection of G is (quasi-)statistical.

The Bundle of Tensor Densities and Its Covariant Derivatives

open access: yesAxioms
We construct the smooth vector bundle of tensor densities of arbitrary weight in a coordinate-independent way. We prove the general existence of a globally smooth tensor density field, as well as the existence of a globally smooth metric density for a ...

Umbilicity of (Space-Like) Submanifolds of Pseudo-Riemannian Space Forms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2009
We study umbilic (space-like) submanifolds of pseudo-Riemannian space forms, then define totally semi-umbilic space-like submanifold of pseudo Euclidean space and relate this notion to umbilicity.

The Soliton-Ricci Flow with variable volume forms

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2016
We introduce a flow of Riemannian metrics and positive volume forms over compact oriented manifolds whose formal limit is a shrinking Ricci soliton. The case of a fixed volume form has been considered in our previouswork. We still call this new flow, the ...
