To Be or Not To Be Pseudocapacitive?
There are an increasing number of studies regarding active electrode materials that undergo faradaic reactions but are used for electrochemical capacitor applications. Unfortunately, some of these materials are described as “pseudocapacitive” materials despite the fact that their electrochemical signature (e.g., cyclic voltammogram and charge/discharge

Clarifying the origin of pseudocapacitance from a perspective of RuO2. [PDF]
Pseudocapacitance is dominantly considered to store charges through a unique faradic reaction (contributing to high energy density), while exhibiting electrochemical characteristics of supercapacitors (enabling high power density and excellent stability).

Pseudocapacitance Effects for Enhancement of Capacitor Performance [PDF]
AbstractWe report on the pseudo‐capacitance induced by a nitrogen substituted in the carbon network composite prepared by a simple carbonisation (750 °C) of formaldehyde and melamine in the presence of carbon nanotubes. Nitrogen content in the composites varied from 7.4 to 21.7 wt.%.

The role of the double layer for the pseudocapacitance of the hydrogen adsorption on platinum [PDF]
Abstract Pseudocapacitances such as the hydrogen adsorption on platinum (HAoPt) are associated with faradaic chemical processes that appear as capacitive in their potentiodynamic response, which was reported to result from the kinetics of adsorption processes. This study discusses an alternative interpretation of the partly capacitive
