Isolation of Alginate-producing Mutants of Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas putida and Pseudomonas mendocina [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiology, 1981
Spontaneous alginate-producing (muc) variants were isolated from strains of Pseudomonas fluorescens, P. putida and P. mendocina at a frequency of 1 in 10(8) by selecting for carbenicillin resistance. The infrared spectrum of the bacterial exopolysaccharide was typical of an acetylated alginate similar to that previously described in Azotobacter ...

Functional Characterization and Genomic Analysis of the Chlorantraniliprole-Degrading Strain Pseudomonas Sp. GW13

open access: yesBioengineering, 2019
Chlorantraniliprole (CAP) is a widely used insecticide in many areas due to its excellent insecticidal ability and mammalian safety, however, the removal of CAP has not been extensively studied. In this study, a bacterial strain GW13, which is capable of

Ultra‐High‐Throughput Discovery of Multifunctional Polyphenolic Coatings on Droplet Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An ultra‐high‐throughput (UHT) combinatorial strategy enables the miniaturized synthesis and screening of ≈30 000 polyamine‐polyphenolic (PaPp) coatings using droplet microarrays (DMA). This approach reveals hundreds of previously unknown fluorescent, redox‐active, and antibacterial materials, including multifunctional, cell‐compatible surfaces ...

Oppositely Charged Single Enzyme Nanogels Form Versatile Coacervates for Efficient Enzyme Cascade Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Oppositely charged single enzyme nanogels (SENs) phase‐separate into bi‐enzymatic coacervate microdroplets, acting as both scaffold and functional units. By tuning SEN ratios, these coacervates create specific microenvironments that enable selective small‐molecule enrichment and efficient intermediate diffusion.

Plant growth-promoting bacteria and silicon fertilizer enhance plant growth and salinity tolerance in Coriandrum sativum

open access: yesJournal of Plant Interactions, 2019
Plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) and silicon (Si) can augment salinity tolerance in plants. In this study, 25 potential PGPB were isolated from alfalfa rhizosphere and screened for their ability to synthesize indole-3-acetic acid, 1 ...

Enhanced Infection Resistance and Regenerative Healing of Titanium Implants via Peptide‐Loaded Biodegradable Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...
